Boston Design Week and COVID-19
There is nothing more important to us than the safety and well-being of our Design Week participants, the design community, our staff, volunteers and attendees.
The COVID-19 crisis has rapidly evolved, and recent developments including guidance, directives and measures taken by the City and State, as well as recommendations from the CDC and the declaration of the National Emergency, make it even more important for us notify you of changes to Boston Design Week. This message will be updated as events unfold.
On Sunday 3/15, Governor Baker ordered all bars and restaurants closed (with the exception of takeout and delivery) starting Tuesday the 17th and banned any gathering of more than 25 people, recommendations are for even less people together. Today, 3/24 all non-essential businesses must close until April 7th. This does not apply to pharmacies, grocery stores and several other categories – the complete list can be found here .
All events are now cancelled or postponed. Please note that each event or program was responsible for its own event, and for making the decision to postpone or cancel it. If you have registered for an event and feel you should cancel or ask for a refund, please contact the event organizer directly – Design Week is unable to cancel your reservations and tickets.
We are keeping the official BDW 2020 Guidebook and the event listings online so that you can see the amazing Design Week we had planned for you. A festival like this requires the work of hundreds of individuals, participating organizations, Sponsors and others, and we hope you will thank them and continue to support them once this crisis has passed.
We hope many of these events can be rescheduled once it is safe to do so, or be offered again as part of the 8th Annual Boston Design Week April 7-18, 2021. To be on our eNews list and receive information when programs are rescheduled or announced, please click here.
Thank you for your patience and understanding, and for your support of Boston Design Week. We understand and share in your disappointment, and hope you and your loved ones and friends stay safe and well.
