The city of Buckley wants the holiday season to be merry and bright this year.
That why, for the first time, it’s hosting what’s being called the Merry & Bright Buckley outdoor decorating contest.
“The goal of this event is to celebrate the season by building neighborhood involvement, creating fun traditions and enjoying our beautiful community,” said Buckley Community Services Director Kevin Caviezel.
To participate in the event, you must register your home by Dec. 4. You can find the form to register your home on the city of Buckley’s Facebook page and city website, or by heading to https://bit.ly/2HlqZWD.
Judging will occur Dec. 15. There will be four categories: Mayor’s Choice, Youth Choice, Holiday Overload, and Hallmark Holiday.
Judges and prizes were still being organized by print deadline.
If you just want to see all these homes lit up, a map of registered participants will be available on the city’s website, or in hard copy at the Buckley library.
For more information, contact Caviezel at 360-761-7814 or [email protected].
