The DESIGN 2020 conference is POSTPONED!

Based on the public health advices and following the opinion of all DESIGN 2020 participants, expressed in the online survey, the Organizing Committee of the 16th International Design Conference DESIGN 2020 decided to postpone the conference until the currently experienced worldwide health crises abate.

The conference is postponed for October 26-29 2020. We are looking forward to seeing you in Cavtat!

Status info regarding COVID-19

Since the EU is closing outer borders for the next 30 days and, with the existing travelling restrictions, regardless are those on the intercontinental or institutional level, we want to keep you informed about the DESIGN 2020 conference planning.

The DESIGN 2020 Team is working according to the schedule. At the moment the CUP is doing final typesetting and editing of all the papers. The daily schedule and BoA are under preparation.

However, we must organise the DESIGN 2020 conference in the safe conditions regarding public health, within the constraints of transportation, venue availability, ICT and, in-line with the preferences of you, the DESIGN 2020 participants. We are aware that networking is one of the motivations for your participation at the DESIGN conference and, we want it to be safe and without restrictions.

As said on the previous DESIGN 2020 news, we are considering different scenarios, including the postponing of the conference, different presentation technology and schedule. We will continue to monitor the situation. When the situation and options becomes reasonably predictable, we will present it to all the DESIGN 2020 participants and identify your preferences before we made further decisions.

Status info regarding COVID-19

For DESIGN 2020 organisers, the health and well-being of the participants is our top priority. We understand the concern and uncertainty our participants may be experiencing surrounding the coronavirus (COVID-19) and we are committed to being responsive as the situation evolves.

We are closely following the developments, and are implementing the instructions provided by the Croatian government.

Croatia has to date relatively small number of the confirmed cases of patients who tested positive for COVID-19. Croatian Government had responded promptly and coordinated the activities of all government departments in preparing measures for the protection of public health and safety. The Government and the relevant services are doing everything possible, with currently available and limited information about the virus itself as well as its transmission routes, so that Croatia is ready to tackle every possible suspected case of new coronavirus infection.

The national civil protection authority discusses the situation daily and makes decisions and recommendations and introduces measures in a timely manner. DESIGN 2020 organisers act accordingly and are considering different response scenarios.
