A fire damaged the wood deck and exterior wall of a Santa Barbara home Thursday afternoon, according to the County Fire Department.
Firefighters responded to the residence on the 800 block of Cieneguitas Road at 2:19 p.m. and found an exterior deck in flames, with the blaze putting up heavy smoke, said Fire Department spokesman Mike Eliason.
No one was inside the home at the time, he said, and firefighters were able to extinguish the blaze with hoses in about 10 minutes.
There was reportedly smoke damage to the inside of the building, in addition to the exterior damage from the flames.
An investigator responded to the scene as of 2:45 p.m. to determine the cause of the fire, Eliason said.
