Milwaukee-Based Interior Design, Color Consulting

Welcome Spring readers, I hope this post finds you happy & ready to dig into renovation season 🙂 I wanted to share with you today, some exciting interior design before & afters, from a gem of a project.

AFTER

BEFORE

I met this family several years ago when we designed a condo together in the Milwaukee area. The condo has such a wonderful location and view, it was a treat to step inside every time we met. You can see some of the after photos in my portfolio, one favorite is the dining table with yellow art piece.

Last year when the clients reached out to see if I was interested in reworking their main residence in Florida, I was super excited. Take 2!

I work with clients all over the country but this was more involved. I did visit once to gather photos & measurements. There are some great logistics involved here- Milwaukee Condo> clients in Florida, designer in Milwaukee & next, Florida Residence> clients in Florida, designer in Milwaukee.

The Florida residence is a beautiful property which truthfully was already lovely but the colors and decor were feeling very serious/traditional. The family was ready to really give it bright, modern spin.

I sketched out ideas and we started to build a new color palette & decor style. We repainted walls, removed window treatments, painted cabinets white, replaced counters, added new hardware, the couple selected new appliances. We replaced all light fixtures, furnishings, art, decor. We kept a few existing furniture pieces.

We worked on the first level throughout 2017 and now we’re working on the second level. We will also tackle the exterior. When everything is complete, we laughed that they will have to buy me a 3rd property because I love working with them so much.

I visit a few months ago to view our progress and have photos taken. The difference in the way the space feels is really amazing. Like a completely different house. I’ll never get over the power of renovations.

Paint is a huge factor along with simplification. You don’t need much…. You do need a little punch of color here and there. Our punch is coral & blue against a light gray & white backdrop.

In a lucky twist of fate, I found the most talented photographer- Amy of NATIVEHOUSEPHOTOGRAPHY to shoot this project. Her eye for interiors blew me away. In this field, you do not find an Amy very often.

You can view more outtakes in my portfolio. I am so grateful for this opportunity, for amazing client friends.

Call me if your home needs a new mood.
XO, Jessamy
